Welcome to Our Lady of the Assumption Library Media Center. The Media Center is housed in the St. Francis Center along with OLA's preschool and Kindergarten.
The computer lab and library are used by our students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Kindergarten students visit the computer lab for 30 minutes each week and the library for 30 minutes each week. Students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades visit the computer lab for 45 minutes each week and the library for 45 minutes each week. Students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades visit the computer lab for 30 minutes each week and the library for 30 minutes each week.
The library collection consists of approximately 7, 324 books. The library has five windows based computers for the students to use when searching the school's on line catalog (Alexandria), and for the students to use when searching the internet. The computer lab has 16 I-Macs and 1 Smartboard (interactive white board).
The library is staffed by one full time librarian and many wonderful parent volunteers. The computer lab is staffed by one full time teacher.
The library is open Monday through Friday 8AM - 3PM and it is a member of NMRLS (Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System).
