Big6 Research Model
Big 6 # 1 - Task - What are you suppose to do? Create a Christmas presentation about some of the many different Christmas traditions around the world. What role does Jesus play in these traditions? What do you think is the most interesting tradition and why? You may use Smart Board Notebook software, PowerPoint or Word to make your presentation.
Big6 # 2 - Information Seeking Strategies -What are the best sources to find information for my project? You may use the World Book encyclopedia, Google, and the web sites provided. You may also use nonfiction books or you may interview someone.
Remember if you use a website (other than those provided) you need to evaluate the website for accuracy. Please see Kathy Schrock's guide for evaluating a web site.
Big6 # 3 - Locate and Access - Where can I find the sources? Click on the following links.
Big6 # 4 - Use of Information-Now that I have found the information, how will I take notes? Don't forget you need record where you got your information to cite your sources. Read and take notes from the above listed websites.
You will use Noodletools to create a Worked Cited page.
Big6 # 5 - Synthesis - Put all your information together and start to create your presentation.
Big6 # 6 - Evaluation - When you have completed your project, you will receive an evaluation sheet. The evaluation sheet will have the following questions:
- What did you learn from working on this webquest?
- Did you do your best work on this presentation?
- Did you work well with your partner?
- Is there something you could do better on your next presentation?
- What was your favorite part of this presentation?
